The Past
 The business was incorporated in 1968 by the late Arthur Hingley and his sons Alan & Ray, who today still remain the major shareholders, others being Geoff and Keith the youngest son.
Ray is engaged full time in vehicle recovery working for sister company Hingley Garages, Geoff and Keith work in the day-to-day of the transport business, with Alan heading the company as Managing Director.
Business commenced with a single truck in the late 60’s and over the years has expanded from its general haulage roots, into what is the largest private steel transport company in the West Midlands. |
The Present
The fleet profile today consists of some 60 tractor units and 140 trailers of mixed configuration (slidaflex coil carriers / flats / curtainsider / coiler flats) with business turnover for year ending November 2008 projected at - £8.5 million and employing some 100 people.
The Company has developed from a background of general haulage, to today offering customers the benefits of a complete transport solution, involving customer on-site management, driver training, vehicle loading, traffic planning and routing, overnight trunking and next day timed delivery services.
Much of our business is under contract with TDG PLC and Corus Steel UK.
From our base in the West Midlands we are now delivering in excess of 1 million tonnes of steel related products per annum throughout the U.K. |
